Registration for Winter Sports
Please review the information below regarding the athletic registration process. To ensure your student-athlete is eligible for participation on the first day of tryouts, all required forms and documentation must be submitted by the registration deadline. Please submit all paperwork as early as possible to avoid delays in athletic clearance. Roselle Park Athletics uses the Genesis Parent Portal for all athletic registrations.

Genesis Registration Steps
Step 1
Log into your Genesis Parent Portal account. If you are unable to access the parent portal please email the Assistant Principal for Athletics at sbarandica@rpsd.org
Step 2
Under the Forms Library tab click on the Sports Registration Form for the upcoming season (ie. Fall, Winter or Spring)
Step 3
Select the school your student-athlete will attend in the upcoming season.
Step 4
Select the sport your student-athlete will be participating in for the upcoming season and complete all required fields. (Students may only register for one competitive sport per season, they are allowed to register for one sport and the Musical)
Step 5
Review all information and click Submit or Update to finalize the registration.
Step 6
Complete and upload all required medical forms in Genesis, including:
- Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form (Only Required if your current sports physical exam date is not within 365 days of your sport start date)
- A sports physical is valid for 365 days from the date of the examination. If a physical is valid on the first day of the season, it remains valid for the duration of that sports season in accordance with NJSIAA and New Jersey Department of Education regulations. Please note that only the current New Jersey Department of Education athletic physical forms will be accepted. We do not accept Universal Child Health Record Forms for athletics.
- Health History Update Questionnaire (Only Required if your sports physical exam date is valid but more than 90 days from your sport start date. You will not be eligible to try out if this document is not submitted)
- If your physical date is within 90 days of your sport start date, you DO NOT have to submit a Health History Update Questionnaire.
We have coordinated with the Linden CareStation to provide physicals at RPHS for your convenience. High School Students may sign up to have their physicals completed on November 10, 2026 during the school day. Middle School and VOTECH students may have their physicals completed on November 10. 2026 after school from 3-6pm. There will be a fee of $25 for the physical, it can be paid in cash or via check (Payable to RPBOE). If interested please reach out to the school nurse or athletic office.
Step 7
Additional forms are required to be submitted to the school nurse if the student-athlete has a history of asthma, allergies, diabetes, or seizures. You MUST upload or submit an action plan to the school nurse from your physician if you have an epi-pen, inhaler, diabetes or history of seizures. Your physical will not be processed and you will not be cleared without the action plan. (This is only applicable if you have any of the medical conditions mentioned above)
Step 8
Once all forms have been submitted, the student's medical paperwork will be reviewed and sent to the school physician for final clearance. Physicals submitted after the deadline will be processed for future seasons but may result in the student not being allowed to try-out for the winter season. Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed by the Assistant Principal for Athletics.
If you’ve participated in a sport within the last year, check Genesis under the Athletics section or with your school nurse to confirm you have a valid physical on file. You do not have to upload your physical if it is valid and we have it on file from the previous season in genesis.
Families who wish to verify the status of their student's athletic clearance should contact the Athletic Office or School Nurse. Any questions regarding tryouts should be directed to the head coaches. You can email coaches directly through our Athletic Department Directory on the Athletics Site.
